Adenoscan is an adenosine powder soluble in water and injected intravenously by doctors (in a hospital) to understand the working of the patient’s heart. Having a pH of 4.5 to 7.5, it is a potent peripheral vasodilator that relaxes vascular smooth muscle. It functions by opening up the heart’s blood vessels allowing blood to run more freely, thus helping the doctors to see more clearly by radionuclide.
