Basic Information On Aredia
Aredia is a bisphosphonate containing nitrogen. It is used in the treatment of osteoporosis. It is also used in the treatment of hypercalcemia, which means increase of calcium in the body associated with various types of cancers or multiple myeloma. In Paget’s disease the drug is used to strengthen the bones. It is also used in the treatment of bone metastasis or certain bone disorders such as brittle bones or osteogenesis imperfecta. The brand or generic Aredia acts by inhibiting the bone resorption. The drug blocks the dissolution of calcium phosphate of the bones.
