General Information on Azulfidine EN

Azulfidine EN belongs to the class of drugs called salicylates and is prescribed for the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases. The doctors prescribe to buy Azulfidine EN for the patients suffering from ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis. Sulfasalazine is the generic name of this drug.

For treatment or prevention of ulcerative colitis among children above 2 years, the initial dosage is 6.7-10 mg per kg of the body weight given every 4 hours. The maintenance dose is 7.5 mg per kg given every 6 hours.

For treatment of rheumatoid arthritis among adults, the recommended dose varies between 500 mg and 1 g per day.

For treatment of rheumatoid arthritis among children above 6 years, the recommended dose varies between 30-50 mg per kg of the body weight, divided into 2 equal doses per day.
