Caduet is a combination drug that is used to treat hypertension and chest pain caused to due cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels. It works by reducing the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) which results in the formation of clumps or blocks. Caduet or Amlodipine/Atorvastatin combination can harm an unborn baby. If you are pregnant you will not be prescribed this drug. Breastfeeding can pass the drug to the infant. For adults, Amlodipine dosage can start at 5mg and can be increased to 10mg. Older patients, children and individuals with liver problems are prescribed small dosage of 2.5 mg. Atorvastatin is started with a dosage of 10mg and is commonly increased to 20 mg. For some patients with severe fat deposition, the dosage can start with 80 mg. It is suitable for children older than 10 years and is used as an adjunct to diet correction. The dosage depends on the patient.
