General Information on Capozide
Capozide is generally used for treating high blood pressure. It is the combination of Captopril and hydrochlorothiazide. The Capozide belongs to a drug class known as ACE inhibitors.
Commercially, Capozide is known as ACE Inhibitor. (ACE stands for angiotensin converting enzyme). The enzyme causes the relaxation of blood vessels in the human body, thus reducing blood pressure. The drug is available as a tablet in three forms – Capozide 15 mg, Capozide 25 mg and Capozide 50 mg.
The inactive ingredients of the drug include lactose, coloring substances, cellulose, starch and stearic acid.
Side effects of Capozoide
You should not buy Capozoide if you have previously suffered an allergy to any ingredient of Capozoid. This would induce adverse reactions like rashes and itches in your body. So, check the ingredients before you buy it. If you have painful urination, the drug will worsen your condition. So, never take Capozoide if you have any problem with urination. Similarly, if you are consuming sulfate or ketanserin, they might interact with the drug.
Before you buy Capozoide, inform your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant. Also let your doctor know about your medical history and give the full list of medications that you are currently consuming. If you have ever had angioedema, bowel problems or kidney related problems in the past, make sure you explain that to your doctor.

- Inability to stand for long time
- Change in taste
Some of the serious side effects include severe allergic reactions, burning sensation in throat, tight chest, blistering in skin, diarrhea, blurred vision, stammering speech, yellow eyes and dry skin. If you are facing any of those, make sure you consult a doctor instantly.
Capozide should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you take the tablet when you are pregnant, it could even cause the death of the fetus. Since capozoid mixes with the breast milk, you should not take it while breast feeding.
Dosage of Capozoide
You should take the drug on empty stomach before each meal. In most cases, three Capozoide 20 mg tablets are recommended to be taken per day. The dosage could be reduced or increased based on the condition of the patient. So, always follow the prescription that your doctor gives.
The drug will increase the amount of urination. In order to sleep peacefully, take the drug before 6 pm. Never take two doses at the same time because it could lead to some serious side effects.
Do not drive after taking Capozide as it might cause dizziness.
Interactions
People who are consuming diuretics along with Capozoide will face adverse reactions. It might also cause hypotension at times.
If you take lithium along with this drug, it could cause adverse reactions. If you are on diuretic pills, you would have a high level of lithium in your system. Therefore, your doctor may advise you to stop taking diuretics along with this drug.
