Basic Information On Colazal
Colazal is prescribed for the treatment of mild to moderate ulcerative colitis and the associated symptoms, such as diarrhea, rectal bleeding and stomach pain. Ulcerative colitis is characterized by inflammation and ulceration of the colon lining. Colazal helps in reducing colitis symptoms by decreasing the swelling in colon. For adults, the ideal dose recommended for Colazal is three capsules of 750 mg thrice a day (6.75 g per day). For patients between 5 and 17 years of age, the daily recommended dose is either similar to the adult dose or it is one capsule of 750 mg thrice a day (2.25 g per day).
