Ddavp injection is given in the form of an intravenous mixture at a rate of 0.3 mcg DDAVP/kg of the body weight. It is diluted in sterile physiological salt solution and infused at a slow pace into the body over a period of 15 to 30 minutes. 50 mL of Ddavp is the recommended dosage for adults and children who weigh more than 10kg. For children who weigh less than 10kg, the dosage should be 10mL.Pulse and blood pressure should be monitored during the infusion. If 4 mcg/mL of this drug is used before the operation, it should be given 30 minutes before the scheduled procedure.
