General Information on Demadex
Demadex is a diuretic pill indicated for the treatment of edema (fluid retention) in patients suffering from liver disease, congestive heart failure, or kidney disorders like nephritic syndrome. The generic name of Demadex is torsemide.
Demadex works by preventing the body taking in too much salt instead allowing it to pass out from the body through the urine.
Demadex is also found to be useful in the treatment and management of high blood pressure or hypertension.
Side effects of Demadex
You must not use Demadex if you have previously suffered from an allergy to torsemide. Dosage of Demadex

The recommended dosage of this tablet is dependant on the condition being treated. If your doctor prescribes a different dose than what is recommended, you must only follow that dosage.
The recommended initial dose of Demadex for treating congestive heart failure is between 10mg to 20mg per day. For treating chronic renal failure, the recommended daily dose is Demadex 20mg. For hepatic cirrhosis, the recommended daily dose is between 5 and 10mg. For treating and managing hypertension, the recommended dosage per day is 5mg.
The dose may be increased to get the adequate effect, but the maximum recommended dose for treating chronic renal failure and congestive heart failure is 200mg per day. For hepatic cirrhosis, improvement in efficacy has never been tested for doses higher than 40mg. For treating hypertension, the maximum dosage is 10mg. If the patient’s response to this dose is not positive enough, another hypertension drug may be prescribed by the doctor for treatment.
