The main ingredient of the drug is Triamterene. Since this drug may increase the potassium levels in your body, it is advisable to avoid food containing potassium like bananas, orange juice, etc. In some cases, it may cause hypersensitivity, making you extremely sensitive to bright light or heat. Some side effects of Dyrenium are kidney stones, acute renal failure, jaundice, or diarrhea. You may also experience some dizziness or dry mouth.
Do not use the Dyrenium if you suffer from urinary problems, and inform your doctor about it. Please consult your doctor before stopping the medication. It is generally stopped gradually and not completely. If you observe abnormal blood pressure readings, or your swelling increases, consult your doctor immediately. If you are pregnant and are taking the Dyrenium drug, please inform your doctor immediately in case your swelling does not reduce. If the edema is resulting in discomfort, you should stop the medication.
