Effient is the brand name for the drug Prasugrel. Angioplasty is a procedure to open up the heart artery after a heart attack. Effient is started with an oral dose of 60 mg and followed up with 10 mg every day. Where body weight is less than 132 pounds, the recommended daily maintenance dosage is 5 mg. Effient should be taken along with Aspirin75 mg to 325 mg as prescribed by your doctor. It may be taken with or without food.
