Emcyt is indicated for palliative treatment for progressive/ metastatic cancer in the prostrate. Metastatic carcinoma is the spreading of the cancer cells from one area to another in the body. Take Emcyt or Estramustine Phosphate Sodium by swallowing with one full glass of water one hour before food. Do not eat for two hours afterwards. Avoid taking milk or yogurt, juices with extra calcium simultaneously with the drug. Do not lie down for about 30 minutes after taking the medicine. Take the medicine regularly and at fixed timing as per prescribed dosage to get the best results. Allow a gap of three hours between brand or generic Emcyt and other medication containing calcium, magnesium, aluminum or iron. Examples of such drugs include quinapril and didanosine. Use contraceptives to prevent the medicine’s mutagenic action. If you suffer from impaired hepatic (liver) functions, consult a doctor and be cautious.
