General Information on Ertaczo Cream
Ertaczo Cream is used for treating certain fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete’s foot. The generic name of the drug is Sertaconazole, and it belongs to the therapeutic class of antifungal medicines.
Ertaczo Cream prevents the growth of fungus on the skin and blocks the formation of cell walls of the fungi, resulting in their death. In this way, the fungal infection is treated.
You can buy Ertaczo Cream in the form of a topical application which is to be applied directly on the infected area.
Side effects of Ertaczo Cream
Do not apply Ertaczo Cream on broken, bruised, chapped, or cracked skin or on open wounds, as severe irritation may surface. Also avoid getting the medicine in contact with your eyes, ears, nose or mouth. Do not buy Ertaczo Cream if you are allergic to Sertaconazole or any other antifungal drugs such as miconazole, clotrimazole, or ketoconazole.
Do not take any other oral antifungal medicines or use any other topical antifungal applications while using Ertaczo Cream as doing so may lead to serious side effects.
Do not use any cosmetic products, especially chemical products, while using Ertaczo Cream, as severe irritation or reaction may take place. Also do not apply any herbal preparations on your skin without consulting your doctor.
Patients using Ertaczo Cream may commonly experience skin dryness, tenderness, discoloration, swelling, irritation, or burning. Although these are minor side effects of the drug, you should notify your doctor immediately if any of these worsen or persist.
Some serious side effects associated with Ertaczo Cream include blistering, oozing, or open sores on the treated area. Seek medical help if you develop any of these symptoms.
Some hypersensitive patients may also suffer from an allergic reaction to Ertaczo Cream. Symptoms of such a condition include severe dizziness, difficulty breathing, hives, or itching or swelling of the face, throat, lips or tongue. Discontinue using the drug and seek medical help immediately if you have any of these symptoms.
Dosage of Ertaczo Cream
Your doctor will advise you to apply Ertaczo Cream on the infected area twice a day. The duration for which you will need to continue the treatment depends on the kind and severity of your infection and your response to treatment.
You should not stop using Ertaczo Cream before completion of the duration of treatment. The symptoms may diminish much before the infection has been healed completely. If you stop applying the cream, the infection may surface again and worsen.
Using more Ertaczo Cream or for a longer period than prescribed will also not help you in any way, but will only give rise to serious unwanted side effects.
Do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly with water before applying Ertaczo Cream, as doing so otherwise may lead to the development of a new infection or aggravate an already existing infection. Inform your doctor or dermatologist immediately if you witness signs of a new infection, such as oozing or inflammation at the site of the existing infection or any other part of your body.
