Factive is a broad-spectrum antibiotic and belongs to fluoro-quinolone class of drugs. It is used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. In the treatment of community-acquired pneumonia (mild to moderate) for strains K. pneumoniae and M. catarrhalis 320 mg tablet is taken once daily for 7-days and for any other strains it is taken for 5-days. For patients with creatinine clearance < 40 mL/min the recommended dose is 160 mg administered every 24 hours.
