Basic Information On Foradil Inhaler
Formoterol fumarate is a long-acting beta2 agonist (LABA). It is the main ingredient of brand or generic Foradil. The special aerolizer supplied with the drug crushes the capsule to deliver the power for oral inhalation. The muscles around air passages tighten in asthma or when exercise induced bronchospasm (EIB) occurs. LABA acts by relaxing these muscles, relieves symptoms of asthma and may also prevent wheezing and other asthmatic symptoms. It is also used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Your health care provider will prescribe a long term medicine also to control asthma when both EIB and Asthma are present. Formoterol fumarate in capsule form comes with an aerolizer for oral inhalation of the medicine. This drug is used for treatment of adults and children above five years.
