Humatrope is used for treating certain medical conditions including HIV related wasting or weight loss, intestinal disorder such as short bowel syndrome, Turner syndrome, chronic kidney failure, short stature at the time of birth without any catch-up growth, Prader-Willi syndrome, growth hormone deficiency or growth failure. Active ingredient in the medicine is Somatropin, and it is a form of human growth hormone. It works by promoting growth of muscles and bones in the patient’s body.
The medicine is available in the form of an injection, given to the patient subcutaneously.
Side effects of Humatrope
Your doctor will not recommend you to buy Humatrope if you have allergy to it, if you have an eye problem (such as diabetic retinopathy), severe breathing problem (such as acute respiratory failure) or closed epiphyses, if you recently had a trauma or surgery or if you are undergoing a cancer therapy.

New born babies should be given this medicine mixed with sterile water, without any preservatives. Call the doctor at once if your child develops any of these symptoms.
Weakness, muscle pain, fatigue, vomiting, nausea or headache may commonly occur in Humatrope patients. Although these are mild side effects of the drug, you should notify your doctor at once if any of these become too troublesome.
Some serious side effects associated with the drug include limp development, unexplained weight gain, persistent cold intolerance and slow heartbeat, ear pain or itching, joint, knee or hip pain, hearing problems, unusual increase in urination or thirst, numbness or tingling, swelling on ankles, feet or hands, severe headache, changes in appearance of moles, seizures, vision changes or problems, severe pain in stomach or abdomen or persistent nausea or vomiting. Seek medical attention immediately if you develop any of these symptoms.
Dosage of Humatrope
Your Humatrope dosage and duration of treatment will depend on your age, the medical condition that needs to be treated and your response to the treatment. The injection is given either subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Use a different location every time you receive an injection. Do not give the injection at the same site more than once, and do not inject it into red, infected, injured or sore skin or muscle.
If you are using the medicine for treating short bowel syndrome, you will also need to follow a diet plan suggested by your doctor.
Drug Interactions of Humatrope
