Iopidine Eyedrops is indicated in the treatment of ocular hypertension (increased pressure in the eye). The generic name of this drug is Apraclonidine Ophthalmic. You should buy Iopidine Eyedrops only if your doctor has prescribed the drug for your treatment.
This drug works by reducing the flow of aqueous humor to the eye. Iopidine Eyedrops is meant for ophthalmic use only. It is available in strength Iopidine Eyedrops 0.5%. Iopidine Eyedrops may also be used for other medical conditions.
In addition to apraclonidine hydrochloride, the active ingredient in the preparation, Iopidine Eyedrops also contain benzalkonium chloride as preservative and sodium acetate, sodium chloride, purified water, hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide as the inactive ingredients.
Side effects of Iopidine Eyedrops
Some of the common side effects of this drug are: headache, dry nose, dry mouth or unusual taste in the mouth. In most cases, these side effects are mild in severity. In case you experience any of these side effects and they are severe, you should consult your doctor.
Other side effects of Iopidine Eyedrops are: red eye, dilated pupils, watery eyes, itchiness, or loss of strength. If you experience any of these side effects, report them immediately to your doctor.
In rare cases, Iopidine Eyedrops may trigger an allergic reaction. Symptoms associated with allergic reaction are: hives, swelling of the lips, throat, or tongue, facial flushness, skin rashes, severe itching, shortness of breath, wheezing, difficulty breathing, or closing of the throat. You should seek immediate medical help if you experience any of these side effects.
To ensure that this drug is absolutely safe for you, inform your doctor about your medical history, especially if you have/have had any of the following: heart failure, depression, chronic kidney failure, cerebrovascular disease, angina, Raynaud’s disease, vasovagal attack, or severe coronary insufficiency. Your doctor may adjust your dosage or ask you to take certain tests to ensure that Iopidine Eyedrops do not present any potentially serious risk to you.
The safety of Iopidine Eyedrops in pregnant women has not been established. If you are pregnant, buy Iopidine Eyedrops only when your doctor has approved its use in your condition.
Administration of Iopidine Eyedrops in lactating women should only be considered if the expected benefit to the mother is greater than any risk to the nursing child.
Iopidine Eyedrops may affect your ability to drive. Avoid driving or working with heavy machinery unless you are sure about how you react to this drug.

Dosage of Iopidine Eyedrops
The recommended dosage is 1-2 drops of Iopidine Eyedrops in the affected eye(s) 2-3 times daily. However, the actual dosage may differ from case to case. You should always use the medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
If you wear contact lenses, remove them before administering the drug. After applying Iopidine Eyedrops, you must wait for 20 minutes before reinserting contact lenses.
Interactions
