Side effects of Ketek

The standard course is for 7-10 days and this medication can be taken with or without meals. If a patient is suffering from severe renal impairment then doctors would prescribe Ketek 600mg (two tablets of 300mg) to be taken every day. Those patients who are undergoing hemodialysis are advised to take their medication only after their dialysis session is over. Ketek 400 mg tablets are orange colored and oval.
Interactions
Ketek or Telithromycin should not be administered along with a drug that is metabolized using cytochrome P450 3A4 enzyme, as the resulting interaction can be quite severe. Ketek also interacts with cisapride, pimozide, and Colchicine. If a patient is on other benzodiazepines treatment, then administering Ketek can lead to interactions as well.
