General Information on Kineret
The generic name of Kineret is anakinra, which is an interleukin-1 (IL-1) receptor antagonist. Kineret is a medication used for treating rheumatoid arthritis. Kineret inhibits the binding of naturally occurring IL-1 to the receptor Interleukin-1. This binding would otherwise produce IL-1 and consequently stimulate bone resorption. Anakinra, a nonglycosylated form of the receptor antagonist IL-1Ra, is considered an effective medication for treating rheumatoid arthritis. You can buy Kineret from a pharmacy only when it is prescribed.
