Loprox Cream is prescribed for the treatment of skin infections caused by fungus and yeasts such as jock itch, athlete’s foot, and ringworm. The generic name of this drug is Ciclopirox Tropical. It is an antifungal medication and works by blocking the growth of infection-causing fungus.
Loprox Cream is meant for topical administration only. It is available in strength, Loprox Cream 0.77%. You need a doctor’s prescription to buy Loprox Cream as it is a prescription drug.
Side effects of Loprox Cream
Loprox Cream is not expected to cause serious side effects. With that said, you may experience mild redness, burning, or itching after using this topical cream. If any of these side effects are severe or persist for a long time, you must consult your doctor.

Dosage of Loprox Cream
Your doctor will recommend you the correct dosage after studying the severity of your skin infection. Usually, patients are advised to apply Loprox Cream two times per day on the affected area. The recommended treatment period is 2-4 weeks. However, the prescribed treatment period may vary from patient to patient.
Loprox Cream may take some time to show positive results. That is why it is necessary that you continue using the drug as directed for full prescribed treatment period. However, you must consult your doctor if no positive results are seen after 4 weeks of use.
Do not stop the medication in between or reduce the dosage on your own, even if the infection heals completely before the prescribed treatment period is complete. Stopping or reducing the dosage may increase the risk of re-infection.
