Namenda is used in the treatment of dementia associated with Alzheimer’s disease (which is moderate to severe in nature). However, this drug is not a cure for the disease. Thus 5 mg in the morning and 5 mg at night is administered each day. In week-3 the dose is increased by another 5 mg; 10 mg in the morning and 5 mg at night. In week-4, 10 mg is administered in the morning and 10 mg at the night.
