Nexavar is used in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), which is primary kidney cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), which is advanced-primary liver cancer which cannot be removed surgically. Nexavar Dosage
The recommended daily dose of Nexavar is 400 mg. This is taken as 2x200 mg in tablet form, twice a day without food. The drug is administered at least one hour or two hours after a meal. Based on the response, effectiveness and the tolerability of the patient the dose may be adjusted. When the dose reduction is required, it may be reduced to 400 mg administered daily once. If further reduction of the dose is required then 400 mg of the drug may be administered every other day. The treatment with brand or generic Nexavar must be continued till the time the patient shows clinical benefits and should be stopped if toxicity occurs.
