Basic Information On Noroxin

Noroxin, which belongs to the drug category of flouroquinolone antibiotics, kills the infectious bacteria. It is used in the treatment of acute gonorrhea of the urethra, cervix, lower genital and urinary organs, and prostate gland infection. It is also used to treat inflamed stomach or intestines and traveler's diarrhea caused by bacterial infection. It stops the growth of particular microorganisms: Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Streptococcus agalactiae, Neisseria gonorrhea, Proteus mirabilis, Escherichia coli and Enterococcus faecalis. It is used only when the infection is strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria. The Noroxin drug can also be used in the treatment of sexually transmitted disease. However, it is not effective against viral infections like flu or common cold.
