General Information on Norpace
Norpace is indicated for the treatment of persistent ventricular tachycardia and other serious irregular heartbeat patterns. The generic name of this drug is Disopyramide. It falls under a category of drugs referred as anti-arrhythmic drugs.
Norpace restores steady, normal heartbeat and heart rhythm by stopping certain electrical signals that lead to irregular heartbeat.
This drug is administered orally and is available in form of oral capsules, which come in following two strengths, 100 mg and 150 mg. The excipients present in Norpace 100 mg oral capsules include: edible ink, corn starch, gelatin, titanium dioxide, talc and lactose. The 150mg Norpace capsules contain the same inactive excipients.

Side effects of Norpace
Patients who have a known allergy to Disopyramide or any other ingredient used in the preparation should not buy Norpace. An allergy reaction may cause hives, facial flushing, skin rashes, or trouble breathing. You should consult your physician immediately if you experience any of these side effects.
Prior to starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have or ever have had any of the following medical conditions:
- Liver disease
- Glaucoma

Serious side effects associated with Norpace may include:
- Chest pain, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, or swelling in the feet or legs
- Severe dizziness
- A new irregular heartbeat

Norpace may cause blurred vision, drowsiness, or dizziness in some patients. If you experience any of these, avoid performing potentially hazardous activities, such as driving, until the side effect(s) fades away completely.
Norpace comes under pregnancy category C. The safety of this anti-arrhythmic drug in pregnant women has not been established. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Your doctor will decided if you can safely use this drug during pregnancy or not.
Norpace may or may not be safe for breastfeeding children. If you are breastfeeding, buy Norpace only after consulting your doctor.
Dosage of Norpace
The recommended dosage range of Norpace in adult patients is 400 – 500 mg daily. The exact dosage, however, may be different for different individuals. It is necessary that you take Norpace exactly as prescribed by your physician.
