General Information on Norprolac
Norprolac is used for treating hyperprolactinaemia, a condition marked by increased levels of prolactin in the body. The generic name of this drug is Quinagolide. You should consult a physician before you buy Norprolac as it is a prescription drug.
Norprolac is administered orally and is available in form of oral tablets. The oral tablets come in following strengths: 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, and 150 mcg. In addition to the active ingredient, Quinagolide, the oral tablets also contain the following inactive ingredients: hypromellose, lactose, microcrystalline starch, magnesium stearate, and maize starch.
Side effects of Norprolac
Norprolac may cause dizziness or sleepiness in some people. You should avoid driving immediately after taking this medication unless you are sure about how you react to this drug.
Norprolac is contraindicated in patients who have a known hypersensitivity to Quinagolide or any other ingredient used in its formulation. If you are using this drug for the first time and experience an allergic reaction, stop taking the drug and consult your doctor. Symptoms of allergic reaction includes the following: hives, skin rashes, irritation, facial flushness, swelling of your tongue, lips, or throat, shortness of breath, wheezing, closing of the throat, or difficulty breathing.
Some common side effects associated with this drug may include: nausea, lightheadedness, sleepiness, mild headache, mental changes (for example confusion or hallucinations), nasal congestion, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, or muscular weakness. If you experience any of these side effects, it is recommended that you consult your doctor.

Dosage of Norprolac
Your doctor is likely to start your treatment with Norprolac 25 mcg once a day for 3 days. After which, for next 3 days, that is, on days 4th, 5th, and 6th you will be required to take Norprolac 50 mcg once a day. From 7th day onwards, your doctor will ask you to take the recommended maintenance dosage, that is, Norprolac 75 mcg once a day. A dosage greater than 75 mcg/day may be given to patients if the recommended maintenance dosage fails to control the levels of prolactin.
You should take the oral tablets with food at bedtime. Store the medication at room temperature below 30°C.
Interactions
