Precautions/ Side Effects For Optivar
Brand or generic Optivar/ azelastine hydrochloride eye drops reduce itching in the eyes. Follow these basic steps while applying the drops to derive maximum benefit. Wash and wipe your hands. Remove the contact lenses if you wear them. Keep the dropper tip, free from any contamination; do not touch it with your fingers or cloth. There is no need to rinse or wash the dropper. Lean your head back, gently pull the lower eyelid as to make a hollow and instill one drop into it. Return to normal position and keep your eyes closed for a couple of minutes. Avoid blinking or rubbing your eyes. You may press at the bridge of the nose, to prevent the medicine leaking out. Wear the contact lenses after waiting for about 10 minutes.
The side effects reported with azelastine hydrochloride eye drops have been mild and temporary. Some of you may experience stinging or burning in the eyes, bitter taste or headaches have been noticed.
