Parafon Forte is used to treat discomfort and pain caused by a variety of muscle injuries such as spasms, strains and sprains. It provides temporary relief and is generally given along with physical therapy, rest and other treatments such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications.
Chlorzoxazone, the main active ingredient in Parafon Forte, belongs to a family of drugs known as muscle relaxants. It works on the spinal cord and depresses reflexes. Parafon Forte is known to block pain sensations and nerve impulses sent to the brain.
Parafon Forte is available in the form of a tablet. It is supplied in four strengths- 250mg, 375mg, 500mg and 750mg.

Dosage of Parafon Forte
Your doctor will give you specific instructions regarding the dosage. The dosage of Parafon Forte depends on the medical condition of the patient and response to therapy. You may be required to take Parafon Forte 3 to 4 times daily.
Take the Parafon Forte tablet with water. Do not take it in larger doses than recommended by your doctor.
Interactions
Parafon Forte may interact with other medicines you are using and cause side effects. It may interact with anti-seizure drugs, narcotic pain relievers, psychiatric medications, specific antihistamines, medications for anxiety or sleep or other muscle relaxants.
