General Information on Parnate
Parnate is used for the treatment of depression and other mental/mood disorders. It can prove helpful to prevent suicidal attempts/thoughts in those suffering from depression.
Tranylcypromine Sulfate, the main active ingredient in the medication, belongs to a group of medicines known as monoamine-oxidase inhibitors. It works by increasing concentrations of specific brain chemicals such as Serotonin, Norepinephrine, and Epinephrine.
Parnate is available in the form of a tablet. It is a powerful drug with a potential of causing severe side effects. Therefore, you should not buy Parnate without consulting your doctor.
Side effects of Parnate
Parnate may cause mild to severe side effects in some people. Restlessness, drowsiness or weakness, decreased urination, impotence, chills, nausea, loss of appetite, tingling or numbness, blurred vision, difficulty having an orgasm, ringing in the ears, stomach pain, constipation, or diarrhea are some less serious side effects associated with the drug.
Parnate may also cause severe side effects such as vision problems, tight feeling in your throat or chest, frequent headaches, sensitivity to light, pale skin, unusual weakness, easy bleeding or bruising, nausea, dizziness, tremors, and fast or pounding heartbeat.

Dosage of Parnate
Your doctor will give you specific instructions regarding the dosage. The Parnate dosage depends on the medical condition of the patient and his/her response to therapy. A doctor generally starts the treatment with a low dose to avoid the risk of side effects. The dosage may be increased gradually during the treatment.
Doctors generally recommend a daily dose of 20mg to adults, which is one Parnate 10mg tablet in the morning and one Parnate 10mg tablet in the evening. The dosage is increased after two weeks if there is no therapeutic response.
Take the Parnate tablet with a glass of water. The effective dose in most cases is 30mg a day. You need to take the medication in divided doses. You can take Parnate with or without food. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 60 milligrams a day. Do not take Parnate in larger doses than recommended by your doctor.
Interactions
If you are taking other drugs, then there is a possibility that Parnate may interact with them and cause side effects.
