General Information on Physiotens
Physiotens is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Moxonidine, the main active ingredient in the medication, is also its chemical name and is a centrally acting antihypertensive. It belongs to a family of medicines known as Imidazoline receptor agonists.
Moxonidine stimulates imidazoline receptors in the brain, which leads to the widening and relaxation of blood vessels. This action allows the blood to move more freely and lowers blood pressure.
