General Information on Pyoben
Pyoben is a medicated shampoo for cats and dogs. It is used for treating seborrheic dermatitis in pets. The shampoo is also good for healing warts, itching skin, bacterial infections and any fungal development. Pyoben also helps in healing superficial skin wounds in a dog or cat. Using Pyoben shampoo is very simple, which is why most people buy Pyoben for any skin infections in their dogs and cats after consulting their vet. The shampoo is safe for dogs and cats of all ages. Pyoben is a good keratolytic, antimicrobial and follicular flushing shampoo.
The method of application is very simple. One needs to shake the container before use. Wet the entire coat of the dog and cat and then thoroughly rub Pyoben shampoo onto the hair and the skin of the pet. It is better to use warm water. This should be done till a rich lather is formed. Leave Pyoben on your pet’s coat for at least ten minutes, and then rinse thoroughly with lots of water till the shampoo is completely washed off. Pyoben is also good for moisturizing the skin of a pet.
The main ingredient in Pyoben shampoo is Benzoyl Peroxide. This is present in a concentration of 30g/L. Benzoyl Peroxide helps in fighting microbial and bacterial infections. The biggest advantage of the shampoo is that it forms a protective layer over the pet’s fur and skin. This film releases the protective medicine over a number of days after application. The antimicrobial ingredients clean out all fungi, yeast, and bacteria by lowering the pH level of the animal’s skin. Pyoben also oxidizes, cures, and cleans secretions, crusts and debris from the pet’s coat and makes it glow.
The other ingredients in Pyoben shampoo are glycerin, chitosanide, urea carbomer 940, water, sodium C14-C16 olefin sulfonate, and Spherulites. Pyoben is available in containers of 8 oz and 16 oz. You may also buy Pyoben in a 1 litre bottle.
Side effects of Pyoben
There are no side effects of Pyoben, but one must ensure that it does not enter the mouth and eyes of the pet. If any shampoo does enter the eyes or the mouth, it should be quickly and thoroughly rinsed with water. The shampoo is water based and does not contain any acetone or alcohol.
Another secondary effect can be on upholstery and clothes. This is because Benzoyl Peroxide causes oxidization and can lead to bleach spots. Care should be taken that the shampoo does not spill on garments and curtains. This is because Pyoben has a bleaching effect.
As a precaution, gloves should be worn while shampooing the pet. The constituents of the shampoo may react with very sensitive skin on rare occasions.
Dosage of Pyoben
The superficial application of Pyoben as a shampoo should be done once every three days for a month. In other words, it can be applied for a month at a frequency of two to three times a week. The frequency of use can then be reduced to once a week.
Interactions
Pyoben is very safe and once washed off, has no reported side effects with other medicines.
