General Information on Restylane Vital
Restylane Vital is a skin rejuvenating dermal filler which contains a form of hyaluronic acid known as NASHA (non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid). Restylane Vital and the rest of the Restylane family of products are the only FDA approved dermal fillers to use NASHA.
Hyaluronic acid is actually produced naturally in the skin of humans and other animals. This chemical keeps the skin moisturized and also gives volume and fullness to the skin. However, over time, the level of hyaluronic acid reduces and skin becomes wrinkled and damaged. Restylane Vital is specially formulated to rejuvenate old and damaged facial skin by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid. Restylane Vital does so gently and remains effective for a long time.
The NASHA present in Restylane Vital is superior to animal derived forms of hyaluronic acid. While animal based hyaluronic acid only stays effective for a few weeks at best, the NASHA present in Restylane Vital stays effective for 6 to 12 months. Moreover, Restylane Vital also reduces the risk of allergic reactions triggered due to sensitivity to certain animal or avian products.
Side effects of Restylane Vital
Restylane Vital has been developed after years of research and several clinical trials. It has also passed stringent FDA tests and trials, making it one of the safest dermal fillers and skin rejuvenation products. Nevertheless, Restylane Vital also exhibits certain mild and serious side effects.
The most common side effects associated with Restylane Vital are not caused by the hyaluronic acid, but by the method of administration. Since this filler gel is injected into the skin, you may experience mild itching, irritation or numbness in the area of injection. These side effects are temporary in nature and go away on their own in some time. However, you must still talk to your doctor if these side effects persist or increase in severity.
Rare side effects that may be seen with Restylane Vital are the presence of lumps or granules on the skin. Such side effects can be taken care of quickly and easily, but you must inform your doctor about it as soon as you can.
Dosage of Restylane Vital
Restylane Vital is available in the form of a gel. This gel is injected into your skin by a Restylane practitioner or doctor. The recommended process of injection is the ‘micro-puncture’ technique, wherein small amounts of this filler are injected in the deep dermis layer. Each spot of injection is separated by 1cm or 2cm.
Restylane Vital can be used for rejuvenating various areas of the skin, such as the face, hands, neck and the décolletage, which is the area between the breasts and neck. Before getting this dermal filler administered, you must tell your doctor if you have any allergies or if you have an infection, disease or any medical condition. A skin test is not required before taking Restylane Vital.
Restylane Vital stays effective for 6-12 months, but this depends on the age of the person, response to the filler and other factors.
Interactions
Before you begin your treatment with Restylane Vital, you are advised to tell your doctor about all the drugs or topical products you are taking. This reduces the risk of an unwanted and unpleasant interaction.
