General Information on Risperdal M
Risperdal M, Risperdal or Risperdal M-Tab is used for short-term treatment of behavioral problems like agitation, physical aggression and severe dementia. The generic name of this drug is Risperidone.
This drug belongs to the group of medications called antipsychotic agents, which can treat mental and emotional disorders like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
You can only buy Risperdal M as per a doctor’s prescription.
Side effects of Risperdal M
You should not buy Risperdal M online if you suffer from any of the following medical conditions:
- An allergy to any of ingredients in Risperdal M
- Stiff muscles
- Fever
- Confusion
- Dizziness
Before you buy Risperdal M, inform your doctor if you have any of the following:
- Low blood pressure
- Diabetes
- Reduced alertness or drowsiness
- Kidney and Liver problems
- Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS)
- Seizures
- Parkinson’s disease
- Tardive dyskinesia (TD)
Some of the common but mild side effects of this drug are:
- Vomiting

Dosage of Risperdal M
The available strengths of Risperdal M are Risperdal M 0.5mg, Risperdal M 1 mg, Risperdal M 2 mg, Risperdal M 3mg and Risperdal M 4mg.
For adults with schizophrenia, the dose is started at 1 mg Risperdal M a day to 2 mg Risperdal M a day which is increased to 4 mg Risperdal M a day and 6 mg Risperdal M a day. However, its safety beyond 16 mg Risperdal M a day is not established.
For seniors with schizophrenia, the dose is usually from a minimum of 0.25 mg Risperdal M (twice daily) to a maximum of 3 mg Risperdal M (once per day). For patients with severe dementia, the dose starts at 0.5 mg Risperdal M a day or 0.25 mg Risperdal M twice a day. This dose is gradually increased to 1 mg Risperdal M a day.
For adults with mania associated with bipolar disorder, the dose is 2 mg Risperdal M a day to 3 mg Risperdal M a day, which can be increased to maximum of 6 mg Risperdal M a day.
If a patient misses a dose of Risperdal M, he or she has to take it as soon as possible. If it time for the next regular dose, the missed doses should be skipped. A patient should avoid taking two doses at the same time. And in case of an overdose, immediate medical intervention is a must.
Interactions
Risperdal M has been reported to have interactions with alcohol, amiodarone, blood pressure lowering drugs, dopamine agonists, levodopa, macrolide antibiotics, sedating medications, SSRI antidepressants, tricyclic antidepressants, ipioid pain relievers, valproic acid, venlafaxine, etc. A patient should tell doctor if he or she is taking over-the-counter prescriptions and herbal medications.
