General Information on Risperdal
Risperdal or Risperdal M-Tab is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorders. It is also used in autistic children to treat irritability symptoms. The generic name of this drug is Risperidone.
This drug is an antipsychotic medication. It works by altering the effects of chemicals in patient’s brain.
You can only buy Risperdal as per a doctor’s prescription.
Side effects of Risperdal
You should not buy Risperdal online if you have:
- Psychotic conditions related to dementia
- Indigestion
- Unusual tiredness
- Difficulty sleeping
- Dizziness
Before you buy Risperdal, inform your doctor if you have any of the following:
- Liver disease, kidney disease, or heart disease
- History of heart attack or stroke
- History of breast cancer
- History of low counts of white blood cells

Dosage of Risperdal
Risperdal is available in tablet and oral suspension form. The tablet forms are available as Risperdal 0.25mg, Risperdal 0.5mg, Risperdal 1mg, Risperdal 2 mg, Risperdal 3mg and Risperdal 4mg. The dose of Risperidone varies depending upon the condition and needs of patients that are to be treated.
Medication of Schizophrenia for adult patients starts at 1 mg Risperdal to 2mg Risperdal a day and generally increased to 4mg Risperdal and 6mg Risperdal a day. For seniors, the dose is usually 0.25mg Risperdal twice a day. For adults with bipolar disorder, 2mg Risperdal to 3 mg Risperdal is given daily. This dose is further increased to 6 mg Risperdal a day.
For patients with behavioral problems, the dose is 0.5mg Risperdal a day which is slowly increased to 1 mg Risperdal a day. However, for achieving highest benefit, patients have to use Risperdal regularly.
Risperdal can be taken with or without meals. Liquid Risperdal should be taken with a special dose measuring cup or spoon. It is best to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
If a patient misses a dose of Risperdal, he or she has to take it as soon as possible. If it time for the next regular dose, you can continue with your normal medicine schedule. A patient should avoid taking two doses at the same time.
An overdose of Risperdal can lead to drowsiness, fainting, restless muscle movements in patient’s eyes, tongue, neck or jaw, fast heart rate, etc. In such a case, immediate medical intervention is a must.
