General Information on Sansert
Sansert is used to reduce and prevent the intensity and frequency of vascular headaches, especially when the weekly frequency is greater than one. It is also used among patients suffering from uncontrollable vascular headaches where doctors have recommended preventive therapy. The generic name of this drug is Methysergide maleate.
Sansert is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Its active ingredient is Methysergide maleate, which works by blocking many different chemical processes within the patient’s body that cause inflammation and pain. The nonmedicinal ingredients of this drug include: cornstarch, sodium benzoate, gelatin, stearic acid, malic acid, gelatin, lactose, titanium dioxide, povidone, lactose, and talc.

Side effects of Sansert
You should not buy Sansert if you:
- Have an allergic reaction (painful urination, difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the tongue, lips or face)

Dosage of Sansert
This medication is available in Sansert 2 mg strength, and the usual adult dose is Sansert 4 mg a day to Sansert 8 mg a day. Tablets are to be taken with meals. It is necessary for a patient to maintain a medication-free interval of 21 days to 1 month after every 180 days of treatment.
If a patient does not witness any results after a 21 day trial period, the longer administration of Sansert is unlikely to provide any benefit to the patient.
Patients on long-term Sansert therapy may develop retroperitoneal fibrosis, pleuropulmonary fibrosis, and fibrotic thickening of the cardiac valves. Thus, this medication should be given only to those whose vascular headaches are frequent and severe or uncontrollable and are under close medical supervision.
In case of an overdose, intoxication can occur. The symptoms include dilated pupils, hyperactivity, tachycardia, dizziness, and euphoria. In such a case, emergency medical help is needed.
Interactions
A total of 406 drugs are known to interact with Sansert. Moreover, the concurrent use of vasoconstrictor agents such as ergot alkaloids, nicotine, and sumatriptan with Sansert results in enhanced vasoconstriction.
