Dosage of Seasonale

The first pill of Seasonale should be taken on the first day of the period or on the first Sunday after the period begins.

The recommended dose is one 0.03 mg Seasonable or 0.15 mg Seasonale a day. The gap between two pills should not exceed 24 hours. A patient should use the 91-day birth control pack containing 84 active and 7 reminder pills.

In case of a missed dose, a patient should take two pills on the day she remembers to do so and continue with one pill a day for the rest of the pack. You must take two pills a day consecutively for two days if you miss taking 2 pills. This would be followed by one pill a day for the rest of the pack. A back-up measure for birth control should be followed for at least one week after the missed pills.

If a patient misses three pills in a row, she has to avoid making up for them and continue taking 1 pill a day as per the schedule while also using a back-up birth control method for the next 7 days. If the patient misses any reminder pills, she has to take fresh pills and avoid back-up birth control. In case of an overdose of Seasonale, one must seek emergency medical help.

Interactions

Many drugs like acetaminophen, phenylbutazone, theophylline, St. John’s wort, seizure medicines, HIV drugs, and antibiotics react with Seasonale.
