Selzentry is used for the treatment of CCR5-tropic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1. When other medications like tipranavir, raltegravir and all NRTIs are taken, the dosage is increased to 300 mg twice daily. If Selzentry is prescribed with potent CYP3A inducers but without Potent CYP3A inhibitors, like efavirenz, rifampin and etravirine the dosage is increased to 600 mg twice a day. The drug can be taken with or without food.
