Basic Information On Sular
Sular belongs to di-hydropyridine class of drugs. The drug is a CCB (that is calcium channel blockers). It is also referred to as antagonist of calcium channel. It is potent vasodilator of the arteries. It is used as an anti-hypertensive agent for treating hypertension. The drug is proved to be effective for patients with angina or cardiac failure. The drug acts by inhibiting or blocking the calcium movement (influx) from extra-cellular space to intra-cellular space. Calcium induces contraction of muscles after it enters the cells. Brand or generic Sular inhibits this action of the calcium. Thus, the drug helps in relaxing the muscles. It acts on the myocardial smooth-muscles and dilates the systemic and coronary arteries. This increases the oxygen supply, decreases the blood pressure, peripheral resistance and after-load.
