General Information on Uniretic
Uniretic is a combination drug used to treat hypertension, more commonly identified as high blood pressure. It may also be prescribed to treat patients who suffer from congestive heart failure. The generic name of Uniretic is Moexpril-Hydrochlorothiazide Oral. Moexpril belongs the class of ACE (angiotensin converting enzyme) inhibitors and the other key ingredient, hydrochlorothiazide, is a diuretic.
ACE inhibitors, like the one present in Uniretic, decrease blood pressure by considerably reducing the level of a chemical (namely, angiotensin ll) in the blood which is responsible for stimulating hypotension responses, ultimately resulting in high blood pressure. Hydrochlorothiazide acts on the kidneys and stimulates the excretion of sodium and water in the form of urine, thus reducing the volume of blood that flows through the vessels. Patients generally buy Uniretic online in the form of oral tablets. The constituent drugs come in three variations of strengths- Uniretic 7.5mg/12.5 mg, Uniretic 15mg/12.5 mg and Uniretic 15 mg/25mg.
The common inactive components present in each moexpril-hydrochlorothiazide tablet are magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate, lactose, crospovidone and gelatin.
Side Effects of Uniretic
Before patients go ahead and buy Uniretic, they must be aware of the contraindications of the drug. Women in any stage of their pregnancy should not use this drug as it may cause severe damage to the foetus. Patients who have or have had the following disorders are recommended to avoid Uniretic:
- Little or insufficient formation of urine
- Kidney or liver disorders

- High levels of cholesterol
- Angioedema

Interactions
Uniretic should never be used by patients who are on ketanserin, dofetilide or injections to treat bee/wasp sting allergies. Several other drugs interact with moexipril-hydrochlorothiazide, such as medicines that lower blood pressure, other diuretics, aldosterone blockers, drugs containing gold, NSAIDs, diabetic medications, and corticosteroids.
