General Information On Valdoxan
Valdoxan is a prescription drug used to treat acute depression. The generic name of this drug is Agomelatin, which belongs to the class of antidepressant medicines. It is usually available in Valdoxan 25 mg strength. One must note that Valdoxan cannot eliminate depression immediately after a dose is taken. Therefore, patients who decide to buy Valdoxan online or from a pharmacy after getting a doctor’s prescription need to exercise patience as the results surface only after around 2 weeks of regular usage, if not longer.
Each Valdoxan tablet contains, besides 25 mg of the active ingredient agomelatin, certain inactive substances. These are- lactose, povidone, sodium starch glycollate, stearic acid, hypromellose, silica, glycerol, shellac, maize, magnesium stearate, iron oxide yellow, macrogol 6000 and titanium dioxide, propylene glycol, and indigo carmine.

Valdoxan is contraindicated in alcoholics and those who are already on other antidepressants. Pregnant and nursing women should only buy Valdoxan after talking to their doctor about the risks and benefits of using the medication. Valdoxan is not meant for use by children below 18 years of age, and extreme caution should be exercised while administering the drug to a young adult. Interactions
Valdoxan has been known to interact with fluvoxamine (an antidepressant) and an antibiotic called ciprofloxacin. A doctor needs to know about all the medicines a patient is taking so as to avoid harmful interactions. Alcohol also tampers with the functioning of Valdoxan and harms the liver during treatment.
