Vexol belongs to the class of corticosteroid drugs. It is an ophthalmic solution and is used in treating disorders in the eyes. It is used to treat condition such as anterior uveitis and in the management of inflammation in the eyes that is caused due to an ocular surgery. It is also used in curing inflammations that are caused due to injuries or other injections in the eye. It helps in reducing the pain and swelling of the eyes. Being a corticosteroid the drug acts by suppressing inflammatory-responses to several agents. These agents may be immunological, chemical or mechanical in nature. Additionally, it inhibits cellular infiltration, fibroblastic proliferation, edema, scar formation and collagen deposition caused due to inflammation.
Precautions / Side Effects For Vexol

Vexol Dosage
Vexol 1% ophthalmic solution is administered topically in form of eye drops. The recommended dose of the ophthalmic suspension during the 1st weeks is 2 drops to be administered every hour while awake. In the 2nd week only 1 drop of the drug is administered every 2 hours while awake. The dosage is gradually reduced until the infection (or uveitis) is completely resolved. If a particular dose of brand or generic Vexol is missed then it should be administered as soon as released. Dosage more than recommended above is not advisable unless directed by the ophthalmologist. It is recommended to wash the hands before administering the drug.
