Zofran Injection Dosage
For adults who are to undergo chemotherapy, the dosage is a single 32 mg or three doses which are 0.15-mg/kg. The single dose is infused over 15 minutes, about half hour before chemotherapy. For children the dosage before chemotherapy is 0.15mg/kg. Children below the age of six months are not given this injection. For old patients, the dosage is the same as the general population. For preventing operation induced nausea and vomiting, the dosage is 4 mg that is infused over a period of 5 minutes. For children, a single dose according to body weight which is 0.1mg/kg and does not exceed 4 mg is administered in 5 minutes. Dose adjustments are required for individuals with hepatic insufficiency. A maximal dose of 8 mg should be infused over a period of 15 minutes, half an hour prior to chemotherapy. This dose is given only once before treatment.
