Zymar Eye Drops is prescribed to treat bacterial conjunctivitis triggered by aerobic Gram-Positive and aerobic Gram-Negative bacteria of certain strains. Symptoms of conjunctivitis include, severe redness, watery discharge (usually yellow or green) from the eyes, inflammation of the conjunctiva (the area surrounding the eye), itching and irritation. Tilt your head back, squeeze the lower eyelid to form a pocket and instill one drop of Zymar eye drops into this pocket. Close the eye, return to normal position and press your eyelids gently. Apply the medicine only in the affected eye or the eyes. Apply the drops, once every two hours, when you are awake. On the first and second day of the treatment, repeat the application eight times per day. From the third to the seventh day, apply one drop at a time, four times a day during waking hours. Keep the tip of the applicator clean and free from contamination. Do not touch the tip with hands or wipe it with cloth.
