Shipping Update – January 2022

Shipping times are now closer to normal. However, due to the latest outbreak of the highly contagious Omicron strain, we are anticipating some potential delays in our shipping times. We will provide updates as the situation changes.

Our normal shipping time averages 1 - 2 weeks. Shipments may now sometimes take an additional 2 – 4 weeks to arrive, depending on the source country of your order. Shipments from the United Kingdom and Canada are generally quicker than from other countries.

Please note that these times are averages and individual shipping times will vary. We highly recommend that you place your order at least 2 – 4 weeks or more ahead of your normal reorder time to avoid running out of your medication.

We offer a shipping guarantee when you place an order with us. If your order does not arrive within 6 weeks from the date it was shipped, we will re-ship your order to you at no additional cost.

Call Center – New Hours effective January 17, 2022

Our new call center hours of operation are now 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Central Time, seven days per week.

These changes are due to staffing issues we are experiencing caused by the highly contagious Omicron variant. We anticipate that we will expand our call center hours again within the next 2 – 3 weeks.

If you are experiencing increased hold times or are calling outside of these hours, please leave us a message or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Due to increased demand on telephone networks worldwide, you may experience some intermittent connection problems. If this happens our agents will call you back.

If you have any questions about any changes in our service please do not hesitate to contact us. Our staff are working tirelessly to ensure the timely fulfillment and delivery of all orders. Full information about Valcyte

Basic Information On Valcyte

Valcyte is an antiviral medicine. It helps in preventing viral cells from getting multiplied in the body. Valcyte is used for the treatment of cytomegalovirus, though it is not a cure for the infection. Valcyte is used in the treatment of patients suffering from AIDS. It also helps in preventing cytomegalovirus infection in patients who have undergone an organ transplant (like heart, kidney or kidney-pancreas). If you are advised by your doctor to switch from ganciclovir (Cytovene) to Valcyte, you should remember that the 2 medicines have different strengths. Valcyte contains more medicine than a ganciclovir. Also, remember that an overdose of Valcyte can cause serious illness.

Precautions/Side Effects For Valcyte

You must never take Valcyte (Valganciclovir) and ganciclovir (Cytovene) together. Your dosage may change when you switch from ganciclovir (Cytovene) to brand or generic Valcyte. Remember not to take an overdose of the Valcyte drug, as it can be harmful for you. Taking brand or generic Valcyte during pregnancy can lead to birth defects in the child. Therefore, make sure that you do not get pregnant while using this medicine.

Valganciclovir can cause lowering of blood cells in the body that help in controlling bleeding and fighting infection. Therefore, while taking this medicine you should get your blood tested regularly. You should contact your care provider immediately, if you experience bleeding or any signs of infection like chills, fever, flu and body aches.

Valcyte Dosage

You should take Valcyte tablets with food. If you are taking it in the form of oral solution, 50 mg/ml of the solution should be prepared by the pharmacist before giving it to you. It is advisable that adult patients take the tablets and not the oral solution. For patients suffering from CMV Retinitis, the recommended dosage is 900 mg (two 450 mg tablets) to be taken twice a day for twenty one days. After the initial dose, the recommended maintenance dosage is 900 mg (two 450 mg tablets) to be taken once a day. The recommended dosage for adult patients, who have undergone a heart, kidney or kidney-pancreas transplant, is 900 mg (two 450 mg tablets) to be taken once a day. This treatment has to be started within ten days of transplantation until 100 days post-transplantation.
