Full information about Integrilin

General Information on Integrilin

Integrilin is a blood thinning drug, or an anticoagulant, and is used for preventing blood clots that can lead to severe blood circulation problems or heart attack. Integrilin is used prior to performing certain procedures to open blocked vessels and arteries in the heart, such as angioplasty or coronary stent placement.

Integrilin is also used with certain other drugs to prevent a cardiovascular attack in patients who suffer from continuous chest pain but cannot undergo procedures required for opening up blocked arteries in the heart.

The generic name of Integrilin is Eptifibatide. It works by preventing platelets from binding with each other. You need a doctor’s prescription to buy Integrilin as it is a prescription based drug.

Integrilin is meant for intravenous use only. Do not administer Integrilin through an intramuscular or subcutaneous injection. The drug is available in two strengths, Integrilin 0.75mg/ml and Integrilin 2mg/ml. In addition to Eptifibatide, the drug contains the following ingredients (inactive): water for injection, citric acid, and sodium hydroxide.
