IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING OUR SERVICE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
Covid-19 Service Update

At North Drugstore, the health and safety of our customers and staff is our highest priority. Due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic affecting us all, there have been some changes within our industry in general, and in our company specifically, that we want to make our customers aware of.

Call Center

Our current call center hours of operation are 6AM – 9PM every day, seven days per week. If you are experiencing increased hold times or are calling outside of these hours, please leave us a message or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Due to increased demand on telephone networks worldwide, you may experience some intermittent connection problems. If this happens our agents will call you back.

Shipping

We are currently seeing delays in our regular shipping times. Our normal shipping time averages 1 - 2 weeks. Shipments may now take an additional 2 – 4 weeks or more to arrive, depending on the source country of your order.

Please note that these times are averages and individual shipping times will vary. We highly recommend that you place your order at least 2 – 4 weeks or more ahead of your normal reorder time to avoid running out of your medication.

These are industry-wide delays and are mainly occurring due to disruptions in local postal delivery in the countries where our customers live. They are temporary, and we thank the shipping and delivery personnel who are working hard for all of us during this global crisis.

Please Note: As these types of shipping delays are not within our direct control, we are temporarily adjusting our regular Shipping Guarantee from 30 days to 60 days. We will provide updates as the situation changes.

Our Commitment

If you have any questions about any changes in our service please do not hesitate to contact us. Our staff are working tirelessly to ensure the timely fulfillment and delivery of all orders. The health of our customers and staff is our highest priority and we remain committed to providing service at the highest level.

We thank you for your support in these challenging times.

Full information about Proglycem

Basic Information On Proglycem

Proglycem is a peripheral vasodilator, which is a derivative of benzodiazepine. It is used to manage hypertensive emergencies. It is also used in the treatment of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which is caused due to hyper-insulinism. Hyper-insulinism may be due to various factors, such as, extra-pancreatic malignancy, non-operable islet-cell carcinoma/adenoma, islet-cell hyperplasia, leucine sensitivity and nesidioblastosis. The drug acts by inhibiting reabsorption of chlorine in the distal tubule. This increases the excretion of water, sodium, potassium and chloride. Thus, these actions put together, act on the smooth muscles and bring about an anti-hypertensive action. Brand or generic Proglycem also shows anti-hypoglycemic effect by slowing or inhibiting the release of insulin from the pancreas. This probably happens due to the opening of potassium channels into the membrane of beta cells.

Precautions / Side Effects For Proglycem

The common side effects of Proglycem include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, weakness, mild rashes or itching, anxiety and increased growth of hair on the body, especially on the arms, legs and forehead (temporarily). If any of these side effects prolong or worsen, then let your health care provider know. Serious side effects of Diazoxide include chest pain, pounding or rapid/fast heartbeat, unusual and extreme weakness, easy bleeding or bruising, frequent urination, breathlessness, swelling of feet or hands, sweating, eye pain, changes in the vision, itching or rashes of the skin, tingling of feet or hands, fever, body pain, flu-like symptoms, chills and the feeling of losing consciousness.

These serious side effects must be reported to your health care provider or physician, if you experience them upon administration of the drug. Before beginning the treatment with Proglycem drug, let your physician know if you have any of the following: gout, kidney disease, congestive heart failure, high triglycerides or cholesterol, hypokalemia (low potassium levels in the blood) or allergies. Pregnant and breast-feeding women must administer Diazoxide with caution.

Proglycem Dosage

In the treatment of hypoglycemia, the recommended dose of Proglycem in newborns and infants is 8-15 mg/kg that should be divided into 2 or 3 equal doses. The time interval between each dose should be 8-12 hours. The recommended starting dose is 10 mg/kg/day. The dosage in children and adults is 3-8 mg/kg and should be taken in 2-3 equal doses, every 8-12 hours. In the treatment of hypertension emergencies, the dose of brand or generic Proglycem is 1-3 mg/kg given IV in less than 30-seconds through the peripheral vein and a maximum dose of 150 mg should not be exceeded.
