Full information about Temodar

General Information on Temodar

Temozolomide is the generic name of Temodar and it is administered through capsules or intravenous injections. Temozolomide is an oral alkylating agent prescribed by doctors for the treatment of Grade IV astrocytoma, which is a brain tumor also known as melanoma or glioblastoma multiforme. Temodar works by interfering with the development of cancer cells and thus slows down their growth in the human body. It is administered along with radiation therapy and once prescribed by your doctor, you can buy Temodar online or from a pharmacy.

Side effects of Temodar

Temodar can lead to both mild and severe side effects. Some of the most commonly occurring side effects include back pain, pain in the breast, joint pain, anxiety, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, constipation, dry skin, cough, drowsiness, loss of appetite, hair loss, mild pain in the stomach, vomiting, change in taste, muscle weakness and aches, sores on the tongue and in the mouth, nausea, tiredness, weight gain, and weakness. Some of the other common side effects of Temodar include allergic reactions like skin rashes, itchy skin, hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, and tongue, and tightness in the chest. If any of these symptoms persist, you should consult your doctor.

Temodar also leads to severe side effects, which can even be fatal if emergency medical help is not available. Some of the severe side effects include moderate to severe chest pain, memory loss, loss of co-ordination, loss of bladder control, painful urination, coughing up blood, burning or tingling sensation, muscle weakness and pain, numbness, seizures, symptoms of liver problems like pale stools, dark urine, and yellow skin, unusual bruising and bleeding, double vision or blurred vision, peeling of the skin, and depression.

There are certain precautions that you need to take while using Temodar. Before you buy Temodar, always check the expiry date. Discuss your medical condition with your doctor and share your medical history with him/her. If you are pregnant, Temodar can be harmful as clinical studies have proven that it can cause embryo lethality in an unborn child and lead to malformations of the skeleton, soft tissues, and external organs. Nursing mothers are also advised against taking Temodar as it can pass through breast milk and affect a nursing child. Women and elderly people should take more precautions as they are more susceptible to risks of bone marrow suppression or weak immunity.
