Shipping Update

We are now seeing improvements in our shipping times. However, things are not yet back to normal and there are still some delays occurring.

Our normal shipping time averages 1 - 2 weeks. Shipments may potentially take an additional 2 – 4 weeks to arrive, depending on the source country of your order. Shipments from the United Kingdom and Canada are generally quicker than from other countries.

Please note that these times are averages and individual shipping times will vary. We highly recommend that you place your order at least 2 – 4 weeks or more ahead of your normal reorder time to avoid running out of your medication.

These delays are temporary, and we thank the shipping and delivery personnel who are working hard for all of us during this global crisis.

Please Note: We have resumed our normal 30-Day Shipping Guarantee. We will provide updates as the situation changes.

Full information about Kogenate FS

General Information on Kogenate FS

The generic name of Kogenate FS is Antihemophilic Factor. This antihemophilic factor recombinant is a stable, sterile, nonpryogenic, purified, and dry concentrate which is manufactured using recombinant DNA technology. Kogenate FS is used for treating symptoms of classical hemophilia or hemophilia A. It is primarily administered to control bleeding in patients who suffer from a Factor VIII deficiency. It is also recommended by doctors as a medication to prevent bleeding caused by other medical conditions. You can only buy Kogenate FS if it has been prescribed by your doctor as it is not available as an over-the-counter drug.

Side effects of Kogenate FS

There are several common side effects of Kogenate FS that vary from mild to severe. Some of the mild side effects caused by Kogenate FS include lightheadedness, dizziness, mild fever followed by chills, and nausea followed by vomiting. The most common cause for concern is allergic reactions, which are often caused when these injections are administered. Some of the most visible symptoms include constant itching leading to the development of rashes and redness of the skin, swelling of the lips, mouth, face, and tongue, pain and tightness in the chest, shortness of breath, and sore throat. If any of these conditions persist, you should visit your doctor immediately.

Other Kogenate FS side effects include negative symptoms associated with the nervous system (somnolence, headache, and asthenia), respiratory system (rhinitis and dyspnea), musculoskeletal system (arthralgia), gastrointestinal system (vomiting and diarrhea), dermatologic conditions like urticaria and pruritus, and cardiovascular conditions like hypotension, hemorrhage, and vasodilatation. Each of these conditions can be mild, but it is important to be careful as the symptoms can quickly reach a critical stage as well.

As a precaution, you should always inform your doctor about any allergies you may have to antihemophilic factor (factor VIII) drugs or to animal proteins or any other intravenous medications. It is also important to discuss your medical history with the concerned medical professional prior to treatment. If you are already on other medications, it is advisable not to buy Kogenate FS without informing your doctor as your body might develop inhibitors or antibodies that can negate the effect of the medication. As such, you must contact your doctor immediately if you feel that Kogenate FS is not working well or if the symptom of bleeding is persistent.

Kogenate FS Dosage

Kogenate FS is meant for intravenous use after reconstitution and the dosage should always be initiated under the supervision of an experienced medical practitioner. The duration of the treatment and dosage will vary depending on the severity of factor VIII deficiency. To control bleeding in children and adults, the recommended dose of Kogenate FS should not be more than 10-20IU per Kg in cases of early hemarthorsis or oral bleeding. In moderate cases with symptoms of muscle bleeding and definite hemarthorsis, Kogenate FS 15 IU or 30IU per kg should be administered. In cases of major bleeding with symptoms including gastrointestinal and intra-thoracic bleeding, patients are given Kogenate FS 40 IU per Kg. This is followed by repeat doses of 20-25IU per kg every 8-12 hours till the bleeding stops completely.

Kogenate FS is not known to have any interactions, but most doctors would advise their patients to avoid any other medication during this treatment.
