COVID-19 SERVICE UPDATE – JANUARY 2021

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND ALL THE BEST IN 2021

Shipping Update

We are now seeing improvements in our shipping times. However, things are not yet back to normal and there are still some delays occurring.

Our normal shipping time averages 1 - 2 weeks. Shipments may potentially take an additional 2 – 4 weeks to arrive, depending on the source country of your order. Shipments from the United Kingdom and Canada are generally quicker than from other countries.

Please note that these times are averages and individual shipping times will vary. We highly recommend that you place your order at least 2 – 4 weeks or more ahead of your normal reorder time to avoid running out of your medication.

These delays are temporary, and we thank the shipping and delivery personnel who are working hard for all of us during this global crisis.

Please Note: We have resumed our normal 30-Day Shipping Guarantee. We will provide updates as the situation changes.

Call Center

Our call center hours of operation are 6:00 am – 9:00 pm Central Time on Monday to Friday, and 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Central Time on Saturday and Sunday.

If you are experiencing increased hold times or are calling outside of these hours, please leave us a message or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as we can. Full information about Retin-A Gel

Basic Information On Retin A Gel

Retin A Gel is used topically in form of a gel. It is primarily used to treat acne vulgaris. The formulation of the drug is also referred to as all-trans retinoic acid (ATRA). The drug belongs to the class of compounds called retinoid. It is a metabolite of naturally-occurring vitamin A. The retinoid metabolite of the drug acts by activating 3 nuclear receptors such as RARα, RARβ and RARγ. This action of the drug leads to growth and differentiation of epithelial cells, modification in the gene expression and protein synthesis. However, the precise mechanism of action of brand or generic Retin A Gel is not known. It is believed that the drug acts effectively in treating acne because it is able to modify the abnormal follicular-keratinization.

Precautions / Side Effects For Retin A Gel

Side effects of Tretinoin may include peeling of the skin at the site of application, skin irritation, reddening, stinging or warmth of the skin or sensitivity especially to sunlight. The drug may also cause allergic reactions such as hives, severe rashes, difficulty in breathing, itching etc. Serious side effects of Retin A Gel are blistering, swelling, peeling, severe redness or crusting of skin (that is under treatment). Contact your physician immediately if you experience the allergic reactions or serious side effects.

Before administering Tretinoin let your physician know if you have eczema (that is, abnormally high counts of the white blood cells in the body). Also let your health care provider know if you have sun-burns. Avoid the drug if you are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the components of the drug. Let your doctor know if you are already taking other medications such as dietary supplements, herbal products or any non-prescription/ prescription drugs, before you begin the treatment with brand or generic Retin A Gel.

Retin A Gel Dosage

The standard dose of Retin A Gel 0.1% and 0.04% is recommended to be 1 application per day. The drug is administered in form of topical gel and is applied only to the area of skin under treatment. It is preferred that the gel be applied during the evening hours. The gel is applied on the acne lesions appearing on the skin. Only a thin layer of the gel must be applied so that the entire area of the lesion is covered. The dose of the Retin A Gel drug (that is the number of applications) may be adjusted by the physician based on the patient’s response and tolerability.
